Introduction
Living lightly means listening to the subtle energies that move through body, mind, and spirit. Everything we take in — food, clothing, technology, even the vibrations of streaming and electronics — leaves an imprint. By observing these influences with care, we learn what supports clarity and what disturbs balance. This page is not meant as instruction, but as a record of what I observed. Each person’s journey is unique, yet sometimes seeing another’s path can help illuminate our own. Living Lightly is one such doorway into transformation, inviting seekers to listen closely to the language of their own bodies.
Living Lightly – Food Sensitivity
Over time I noticed that certain foods no longer supported me. My body became the teacher, guiding me toward choices that brought peace. Some foods created stress or unsettled my digestion, while others felt too heavy for the lighter vibration I was living in. After visiting the doctor (I had lost a lot of weight) and taking medicine for too much acid, I slowly changed my diet.
The foods I have learned to avoid are listed below. Occasionally, joy makes room for small exceptions—like sharing ice cream with my grandchildren—but overall my rhythm has become simple and satvic, in harmony with meditation and inner light.
❀
Living Lightly – Foods I Avoid
| Category | Items Avoided | Reason / Observation | Energetic / Ayurvedic Quality |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spices & Roots | Onion, garlic, hot pepper, excess ginger | Cause digestive stress, overstimulate energy | Rajasic / tamasic, disruptive for meditation |
| Vegetables | Tomatoes, eggplant | Acidic, unsettling for digestion | Rajasic, heating |
| Grains | Wheat products | Heavy, difficult to digest | Tamasic, dense |
| Dairy | Milk, yogurt, cheese (ice‑cream only occasionally with grandchildren) | Heavy, unsettling for digestion; rare exception for joy | Rajasic, heavy |
| Fermented / Aged | Pickles, vinegar, aged cheeses, alcohol | Too acidic, cause imbalance | Rajasic / tamasic, unsettling |
| Other | Black tea, coffee | Overstimulating, harsh on digestion | Rajasic, heating |
| Nuts | Peanuts, cashews | Cause digestive discomfort, feel heavy | Rajasic, dense, not supportive of meditation |
Clothing and Fabric Sensitivity
As my body became lighter and more sensitive, even clothing began to affect me. I noticed that wearing too many layers could disturb my energy, creating discomfort and unsettledness. Returning home and removing the layers would ease the disruption, reminding me that even fabric density carries resonance.
Living lightly has meant listening not only to food but also to what I place on my body. Simpler, breathable clothing supports peace, while heaviness or excess layers can feel burdensome to the vibration of meditation.
Other Energetic Disturbances: Streaming, Electronics, and Vibrational Shifts
Modern technology carries subtle waves that can deeply affect those whose density has shifted through sadhana or spiritual practice.
- Personal Experience
Opening streaming platforms can feel like an intense surge of energy in the head, sometimes causing rotation or vibration throughout the body. Every cell seems to hum, and it takes time in nature — by a lake, pond, or park — to return to balance. Headaches and stomach issues often accompany this disruption. - Technology Sensitivity
Older devices (such as an LCD laptop or iPhone 7) feel more manageable, while newer TV technologies are intolerable. Watching on a monitor is possible, but prolonged exposure to artificial waves unsettles the system.
These experiences led me to reflect on the wisdom of the ancients.
Spiritual Theory
Ancient Vedic wisdom suggests that mantras move distinct energies. In my experience each mantra carries a unique vibrational current. The ancients may have had less dense or more light‑based bodies to perceive and create these mantras and Ayurveda. Today, seekers undergoing density shifts may feel similar energetic movements but not understand the cause — since modern humanity is exposed to artificial waves for the first time in history.

Tips for Caring for the Body During Transformation
Beyond the food sensitivities and rhythms shared here, the body also benefits from tender care as it moves through transformation. Regular massages can help release stored tension, and practices such as Reiki or acupuncture may offer gentle support while hastening the release of blockages. Exploring the resonance of beads, gemstones, and crystals can be grounding—each carries its own energetic fingerprint, and you may notice the flow of energy shifting with different stones. Sacred malas, such as rudraksha, are traditional companions on the path; learning how to use them may open another doorway of support and connection. At the same time, it is wise to seek medical reassurance when unusual symptoms arise. I visited different doctors over the years and had two MRI scans done, both showing nothing abnormal. This helped me trust that what I was experiencing was part of the energetic process, while still caring responsibly for the body. In the end, both medical clarity and inner listening work together, allowing the body to be held with trust and tenderness.

Head Ties and Energy Care
During times of intense energy movement in the head, I discovered that tying my head brought relief and stability. Sometimes I tied my hair bunched at the crown, in the Sahasrara area, as ancient yogis once did. At other times I used a scarf or turban-style wrap, shifting the tie as the energy shifted. I came to understand why many religious traditions include head coverings—the sensation was as if energy was escaping through the crown, and tying the head helped the body feel stronger. Family and friends may not always understand this, but it is one of the common signs of holy people: practices that arise from inner necessity rather than outer explanation. Including these head ties in my daily rhythm became a quiet support in the process of transformation.

Grounding Practices
Grounding is equally important as transformation unfolds. Simple practices such as walking barefoot on the earth, resting with trees, or mindful breathing help stabilize movements of energy and bring harmony to the whole body. These gentle acts of connection with nature can anchor transformation, allowing body, mind, and spirit to integrate more gracefully.

Closing Reflection
Everything vibrates — food, people, places, and technology. When density changes, the body feels more electrical current, more sensitivity. Foods once tolerated may now cause issues, and artificial frequencies (cell phones, streaming TV) can disrupt digestion and clarity. This is not simply about diet or stress, but about vibrational compatibility.
Living Lightly is not about rules, but about listening. As my body transformed, it revealed which foods no longer supported me and which choices brought peace. Avoiding certain foods became less about discipline and more about harmony—allowing my vibration to remain calm, my digestion clear, and my meditation deep.
At times the sensitivity was so strong that I could feel the effects of certain foods simply by touching them. My body itself became the guide, speaking in subtle ways and teaching me to trust its signals. Noticing that the energy or signal was different for satvic, rajasic, or tamasic foods, I came to the realization that I was learning about foods much like in Ayurveda. I wondered — is this how the ancients discovered Ayurveda?
This sensitivity extended beyond food into clothing. I discovered that wearing too many layers could disturb my energy, creating discomfort and unsettledness. Natural fabrics—light cotton and silk—felt the best, as though they conducted energy more peacefully and supported meditation. In contrast, heavier or synthetic fabrics seemed to block or unsettle the flow of energy.
It also extended into the realm of technology. Streaming platforms and newer devices carried vibrations that unsettled my system, sometimes causing headaches, stomach issues, or a full‑body hum. Time in nature—by water, in the park, under the sky—restored balance. In this way, even electronics became part of the practice of discernment, teaching me to choose environments that support clarity.
One day I realized that I had become just like my Guru. On one occasion she had told me, “you will become like me.” I did not know what that meant, but now I see. She mostly wore silk, and that is the best fabric that resonates with me. Since I cannot find that material here and it is rather expensive, I wear light cotton most of the time. Now I understand why she wore the clothes she wore, the food she ate, and the company she kept.
Each person’s journey is unique, yet the body speaks in its own language. By listening closely, we can discover the foods, fabrics, technologies, and rhythms that align with our inner light.
❀
Living Lightly is not only about discernment but also about care and grounding. Gentle supports—massage, healing practices, malas, and time with the earth—remind us that transformation is embodied. By listening and tending to the whole body, we allow vibration to settle into harmony, and the journey becomes spacious, peaceful, and alive.
