Enjoy this Cucumber Zucchini Salad

Zucchinni_Cucumber Salad

When you do meditation your brain and nervous system starts changing and you need to also change your diet. It works hand in hand. Even as you age you have to take an extra interest in making sure you are getting the right amount of minerals and vitamins. When you meditate everyday you may need to add more magnesium in your diet since magnesium affects the electrical activity in the cells. Don’t take a pill but find things that have it naturally. Raw Zucchini has a fair amount of magnesium but you can do an internet search for more stuff. Since summer is around the corner I thought you might enjoy this.

Here’s my delicious recipe that will help you feel full and has really good things to satisfy some of the elements in your body. No oils or dressings are required. It may help you loose weight depending on certain factors.

Choose the best ingredients, organic if you can.

1/2 Cucumber

1/2 Zucchini

1/2 Avacado

8 cherry tomatoes

Radicchio – about 1/4 or small amount according to your taste. You can substitute lettuce if you wish but the taste will be a little different

Cilantro,

Salt

You can take the skin off the cucumber and zucchini or leave it on. You choice. Here I peeled them.

Slice the zucchini and cucumber into thin slices so it catches the other flavors in the salad.

Slice the tomatoes into quarters.

Chop the cilantro finely.

When ready to eat, slice the avocado as shown and add salt to your liking.

Enjoy!

Meditation is not only about sitting and closing your eyes. It is about changing your whole being.

Peace on to you

Om

The Flute

Lord Krishna3

We are like the flute of Lord Krishna. If the instrument is plugged the music cannot come out beautifully. So we keep our instrument clean so that the music coming out will be clear. Then in the hands of Lord Krishna the music is sweet and there is no separation between the flute player the wind in flute, the wood comprising the flute and the music that’s coming out.

Prayer is the beginning.  All rituals, chanting, hatha yoga and meditation in our life are part of the cleansing process. A Satguru in our life means that we have done a great amount of cleansing but there is still some to go. This is the time when our fears and ego keeps arising and it can be difficult as the path is cleared to let the flute player and the flute become one. If we think we know then that’s the ego. We will know only when we really know.
