According to Swami Muktananda the words  “Om Namah Shivaya” are most sacred. It was not created, but heard by the great masters. So on this day I want to wish everyone a most ecstatic and sublime Maha-shivratri.

The great mantras were heard and so there is no person to credit for the creation of them. With that in mind I would like to share the following to make your Shivaratri awesome.

As I was walking around in the garden I became swept up in song and rhythm. This usually happens and throughout the years I have an accumulation of kirtan that came to me. I did not record some of them and tried to remember sometimes but it does not come again sometimes. In this case I decided to go and record it while it was going on. So I am here beating my desk and singing. Yes, I know I am not a singer and I am sure you can do a better job than me. It was not created by me but by Shiva. It came from the Akash. So feel free to sing and get lost in Shiva and increase the energy.

Dedicate the last part of your program to meditation so “chidananda rupa shivoham shivoham.”
